Karpacz is a tourist resort in the Karkonosze Mountains near Lomnica River. There is a beautiful view of Sniezka Mountain from here. The highest peak of the Karkonosze is within city limits. This resort offers various recreational opportunities all year round. The accommodation base exceeds 11 000 beds (hostels, campsites, hotels and private pensions). The city is a starting point of many interesting ski tracks, among which a very popular one toward Sniezka. There is an interesting landmark at the peak of Sniezka Mountain – St. Wawrzyniec chapel, designed in the Baroque style.
